I have lots of series that I love. But here are just a few of my top ones (besides the Twilight series of course).
-Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead (these are kind of PG 13). These are not numbered (which really bugs me when authors do that). Six books in order-Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, and Last Sacrifice.
-Bloodline Series by Richelle Mead--This is a companion series with Vampire Academy that follows one of the characters. One book so far, but #2 to be released in June. She probably won't order these ones either, so #1 is called The Golden Lily.
-Nightworld series by LJ Smith-- Now, this one has 9 books in the series (they're small/quick reads), but back in 1998 #10 was supposed to be released. It's finished, but there was some kind of deal with her publisher, and now, she's been focusing on the Vampire Diaries series because of the totally gay TV show they did based on the books that do NOT follow the series at all). About all night creatures-vampires, shapeshifters, witches, werewolves. These aren't numbered, but they have been re-released in three books with three titles each, and those are numbered.
-Vampire Diaries series by LJ Smith--Originally, there were 4 books when they were first released in the 90s-The Awakening, The Struggle, The Fury, and Dark Reunion (the newly released covers have the characters from the show on them-which look nothing like the description of the characters in the book). Then, she wrote 3 more-The Return series-Nightfall, Shadow Souls, and Midnight. And now, she is continuing in one last set of 3-The Hunters Series-Phantom (which has already been released), Moonsong to be released March 13th, and Destiny Rising (no release date yet as far as I know). The original four are by far the best.
-Secret Circle series by LJ Smith--Also a TV show now (although it's much closer to the books). Three books about witches. I believe they have been released together into one book.
-Dark Visions series by LJ Smith--(can you tell she's one of my faves). Three books about kids with special powers.
-Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare--So far, there are 4 books, but two to come (first one in May). She is also writing a prequel series that takes place in the 1800s called the Infernal Devices series that has two out so far and next one to be released in Dec. About Shadowhunters, vampires, werewolves, warlocks.
-Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. Four books so far about angels, but #5 to come in June. Her website also says that they're making a movie that is supposed to be due out this year. These ones aren't numbered either. So here is the order-Fallen, Torment, Passion, Fallen in Love, and Rapture.
-Nightshade series by Andrea Cremer. Three books about werewolves (also not numbered) Nightshade, Wolfsbane, Bloodrose.
-Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter. So far there are 3, and #4 is to be released in April. About vampires, faeries, witches. Again, not numbered (what the crap is so hard about putting a flippin' number on it). Born at Midnight, Awaken at Dawn, Taken at Dusk.
-Revenants series by Amy Plum. Only 1 out, but #2 to be released in May. Don't know how to describe what this one's about, so just check it out. It's clean and awesome and takes place in Paris!
I went to Barnes and Noble a month or so ago and decided to go to the "Paranormal Teen Romance" section to check out some new series to read. (I found 23 series to read this year). I also wanted to check out front covers and read the back covers to see what caught my interest. I realized that, unless it has a cool cover and good description, I don't even want to waste my time. So it was good to get an idea of how to do the cover of my book.
